The announcement arrived Friday morning on the Facebook page of the event. Dear friends – we read – we must unfortunately confirm that the 2021 edition scheduled for July will not take place. We are working to find a recovery date for the concerts of John Legend, Paolo Conte and Liam Gallagher. In this regard, we hope to give you certain information on this by the end of this month. All postponed concert tickets will remain valid.

Hypothesis September?

Having skipped the original billboard expected in a few weeks, therefore, the hypothesis of an alternative program to be staged, only for this year, in September under the stands of the Walls, in the area of the former Balilla field, remains standing. This is a project on which the patron of the Summer Mimmo D’Alessandro and his staff have been working for weeks and which would include a series of concerts with high-level Italian singers (the names circulating, among others, of Claudio Baglioni, Zucchero and Antonello Venditti). The decisive element will be the possible granting of a derogation by the bodies in charge of the number of spectators. D’Alessandro would like at least 6,000 for each show, spread over a large area that on 23 September 2017, the day of the historic Rolling Stones concert in Lucca, welcomed almost 10 times more spectators, or 56,000. According to D’Alessandro the former Balilla, an area large enough to accommodate that number of people – 6,000 – in full safety and in compliance with anti-covid regulations on gatherings and social distancing.
