“GOOD SAKE” is distinguished by its production, helmed by egobreak, whose debut album Snow Ballet dropped last week featuring d0llywood1, ezcodylee and Bedroque. Egobreak has coined a new micro-genre to describe the sound: “snowtrap,” a subgenre of supertrap. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), egobreak questioned the need for new genre labels, asking, “why offer something new an old title[?]”. The instrumental for “GOOD SAKE” itself, as described by The Fader, “sounds like CGI ice.”

Musically, the track is described as having a harsh, metallic percussion and shimmering glissandos, evoking comparisons to both SOPHIE and Meek Mill’s Flamerz era. Bedroque’s vocals are characterized as “squeakily yelped,” while prettifun’s delivery is described as melodic, weaving through the production’s fragmented edges.

The collaborative project ROYGBIV has been teased for over a year, but its release date remains uncertain. Prettifun recently both canceled and uncanceled his upcoming mixtape, You Can Die Laughing, adding to the ambiguity surrounding the timeline for ROYGBIV.
