For the sake of “charlatans from abroad”, there will be no privatization in Belarus, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko announced on Monday in Minsk.
“Why am I so sensitive about businesses? Not because I don’t understand that private property should and can exist. We have developed a brutal immunity to justice. There was no fair privatization anywhere, in any country,” Lukashenko said, agreeing to the appointment of Sergey Nikiforovich to the position of General Director of BelAZ OJSC.
Belta agency quotes the words of the president.
“If we want to sink our country and 10 million people into this vortex, and then gasp and groan, realizing that they have entered the wrong place, it is without me and, I am sure, without you,” Lukashenko said.
He emphasized that Belarus will not privatize anything and everything in order to please “charlatans from abroad”.
