Maccabi Tel Aviv is examining the Nick Claths option

by time news

Oded Katash promised at the press conference that “exciting things will happen in the coming days” – and it is possible that one of the exciting names the new coach spoke about is Barcelona coordinator, Nick Claths.

Although Claths is under contract with Barcelona for one more season, but after his team lost the championship to Real Madrid and was also stopped in the Euroleague semi-finals – chances are he will not continue under Sharas.

Maccabi Tel Aviv has entered the picture in recent days and has begun testing the Greek coordinator: Will Barça demand compensation for allowing the contract, and what will be his financial demands – when after earning 1.8 million euros this season, he should cut his salary.

One of the goals of this summer at Maccabi Tel Aviv, as we published during the previous season, is to try and land a senior European coordinator – and Klaths does meet this definition.

The 33-year-old Claths has played for Barcelona for the past two years, but is mostly identified with Panathinaikos, with whom he also won the Euroleague in 2011. In his resume dozens of titles, when last season he also became the king of assists in the history of the Euroleague.
