“We condemned, we intervened and we will do everything to avoid conflagration and escalation,” he repeated, judging that the “situation is very unstable” in the territory.
“What has opened up is very dangerous in terms of reactions,” he added, calling for a “limit”. According to the head of state, by deciding to “strike Israel” from its soil, Iran has caused a “profound rupture”.
Emmanuel Macron continued by indicating that he was “alongside Israel” to ensure its protection. The Jewish state was targeted by a drone attack, dubbed “Honest Promise”, on the night of Saturday to Sunday in response to a strike attributed to Israel against the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1. Tehran pleaded its “right to self-defense”.
France intervened in Jordan
