After an “Essential Interview” centered on the theme of masks, in this “Truth Challenge”, Sabrine Sauvaux, director of TIO-NT, a French mask manufacturing company, tells us in detail about her misadventures with the government during of the Covid-19 crisis. In March 2020, Emmanuel Macron announced his desire to relaunch a French sector for the production of sanitary masks, in order to achieve a “full and complete independence”. A committed citizen and entrepreneur, Ms. Sauvaux then decided to embark on the adventure and responded to this call. But on October 14, 2020, during a videoconference with collaborators of her supervisory minister, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, she was informed that it was useless to hope for an order from the State: the latter had finally reconstituted its stock with essentially… Chinese masks. What arouse the amazement of the head of the company: why encourage industrialists to invest capital in a French health sector for in fine buy masks elsewhere of poor quality, which often do not even comply with European standards? Wiping setback after setback with government figures, Ms. Sauvaux comes to wonder if this is really just incompetence: “Macronie is so much incompetence that it is more credible”she says.
