Madharaasi worldwide box office collection day 3: AR Murugadoss‘
Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth and vidyut Jammwal-starrer Madharaasi was released in theaters on September 5 to mixed reviews. The film, however, has managed to perform decently well, raking in over ₹60 crore at the box office in its first weekend.

According to data from Sacnilk, Madharaasi collected ₹36.40 crore net and ₹42.75 crore gross in India over its first three days.Adding the ₹20.25 crore from overseas, the film’s total first-weekend collection reached ₹63 crore. For comparison,Sivakarthikeyan’s prior film,Amaran,amassed ₹104.50 crore in its initial three days.
On Sunday, Madharaasi saw a 56% occupancy for its Tamil version in India, with the Telugu version at 19%. The bulk of its domestic earnings, ₹32.65 crore, came from the Tamil release.The Telugu version brought in ₹3.45 crore,while the Hindi version managed only ₹3 lakh.
While it might be trailing behind Amaran’s opening performance, Madharaasi is holding its own at the box office. The film is now positioned to surpass the lifetime collections of Vikram’s Veera dheera Sooran: Part 2, which earned ₹63.45 crore.Its next target is the ₹83.6 crore lifetime collection of Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s Thalaivan Thalaivii.
Madharaasi makers warn against sharing unauthorized footage
Produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies, Madharaasi also features Biju Menon, Vikranth, and Shabeer Kallarakkal in notable roles. The producers have issued a statement urging fans, cast, and crew to refrain from sharing unauthorized footage on social media.
“During this moment of celebration, there is a slight cause of concern,” the producers noted. “We have observed that many pages, artists, and crew who have worked on the film are circulating and posting BTS stills, making videos, and other unauthorized content from the film. This is unfair to the producers.”
They added,”Any accounts doing such will be reported and brought down. Any content that goes out from the film should be approved and authorized by Sri Lakshmi Movies as the producers.”
In the film, Sivakarthikeyan plays Raghu Ram, a character suffering from Fregoli delusion. He is recruited by Biju Menon’s character, Prem, for an operation to thwart a North Indian syndicate’s illegal firearms distribution in Tamil Nadu. Rukmini Vasanth portrays Malathy, Raghu’s love interest, while Vidyut Jammwal acts as the antagonist, Virat.
