Mahila Jayawardene holds ICC’s highest honor

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Mahila Jayawardene, former South African cricketer Shaun Pollock and the late England cricketer Janet Britton have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the ICC.

Players who have made various contributions, services and achievements to the game of cricket will be selected and honored by being included in this list.

The names of the players are added to the ICC ‘Hall of Fame’ list every year.

This year, the ICC has honored former Sri Lankan cricketer Mahila Jayawardene, former South African cricketer Shaun Pollock and the late England cricketer Janet Britton with a list of ‘Hall of Fame’ names.

Janet Britt, who made her mark in England women’s cricket with her batting prowess, died in 2017 at the age of 58 from cancer.

Janet Britt is the 31st England player to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

Mahila Jayawardene, who continues to inspire the next generation of Sri Lankans, is the 3rd Sri Lankan to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

Muralitharan and Sangakkara have already been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

All-rounder Shaun Pollock is the 6th South African to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
