New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s tweet criticizing the central government’s move to rename the ‘Rajpath’ road to ‘Karthavyapath’ is being discussed. On Saturday, he tweeted that ‘Rajasthan should be renamed Karthavyastan’.
“If Rajpath can be called Kartavyapath, let all Raj Bhavans be called Kartavyabhavan. Why stop there? Rename Rajasthan as Kartavyasthan” – he tweeted. On Friday, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra had also asked whether all Raj Bhavans will now be called Kartavya Bhavans.
On September 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kartavyapath, a part of the Central Vista project. The Prime Minister said that we have come out of the colonial era and the thought that the country is the foremost among all will make the path of duty.
