Nich Nath Han, a prominent Buddhist monk who combined Buddhist meditation with social work, has died. Nietzsche, who promoted the practice of ‘mindfulness’ meditation in the US and Europe, is also credited with being the father of Han Mindfulness. Tich Nath Han, 95, was resting at the To Hui Buddhist Temple in Vietnam after suffering a stroke.

He developed techniques that made it easy for anyone to meditate anywhere without having to rely on large meditation sessions and teachers. His books on meditation and peace have brought peace and happiness to millions of people around the world.

He completely abandoned materialism and rejected traditional practices that emphasized spirituality. He taught us to show compassion to other human beings, to be open to them, and to share material possessions.

War and peace

At the age of sixteen, Maria Nich Tathan, a Buddhist monk, took a firm stand against the Vietnam War. He spoke out against US airstrikes in Vietnam and against the governments of North and South Vietnam. “War is fundamentally wrong,” he believed. Niche Nath Han, who used Buddhist teachings against war and violence, founded many organizations.

The Youth and Social Service, an organization formed to carry out relief work for victims in war-torn areas and to rebuild schools and hospitals, has more than 10,000 volunteers. He also formed a voluntary organization called the Order of the Interbeing, which included Buddhist monks and believers to serve war victims. Under his leadership he also published a special magazine aimed at cultivating compassion in human beings.

Nietzsche lived in the United States from 1961 to 1963 and taught meditation at Columbia and Princeton Universities. After returning to Vietnam, he again became involved in anti-war activities. Later, Martin Luther King arrived in the United States in 1966 to see him. Martin Luther King, Jr., then demanded that Nietzsche be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Since then, he has visited 19 countries as part of his anti-war activities. He has addressed parliaments in Canada, Sweden and the United Kingdom. He settled in France after being banned from joining the two warring factions in Vietnam. It was during this time that the meditation method ‘Mindfulness’ was developed.

He did not follow the capitalist method of eliminating human internal conflicts and increasing productivity. The goal was to discover one’s inner self and enhance mutual cooperation. ‘ He cites some examples in the documentary ‘Walk with me’.

” A girl asks him what he can do to mourn the death of his beloved puppy. He instructed the girl to look up at the sky and see a cloud disappearing. That cloud is not dead, it turns into rain and even the water in the tea we drink. The cloud is now in a new shape. The puppy is just like that. This will convince us of the realities of nature. ” He believed that such convictions would eliminate violence and suffering.

Niche Nath Han suffered a stroke while living in Plum Village, France. Exhausted, he signaled to his followers to return to Vietnam. Following this, in 2018, To Hiu will visit the Buddhist Temple.

” Buddhism always talks about compassion. But the historical problem is that it does not take much effort to put it into practice. ”– Niche Nath Han once said. He has authored over a hundred books on meditation, social work, and compassion. It is hoped that these books and the more than 600 Buddhist monks and nuns who followed him will solve the ‘problem of compassion’ facing mankind.
