The veteran performer confirmed her participation in the popular competition during an interview with “Hello, this is Polsat,” revealing she was persuaded by numerous colleagues who had previously vied for the coveted Crystal Ball. Potocka’s willingness to embrace this new challenge underscores her continued dedication to her craft despite a decades-long career.
A Career Marked by Success, a Personal Life Defined by Disappointment
While Małgorzata Potocka’s professional life has been filled with accolades as an actress, director, and film producer, her romantic life has been a different story—one marked by repeated disappointments. In a candid discussion, the artist reflected on years of questioning why she’s faced so many setbacks in love.
“I have had a million such conversations and these conversations are the stupidest in the world,” Potocka explained in an interview with Viva! magazine. “Because they are trying to find a definition, a solution. You are sitting on the couch and he says: ‘That’s why the lady has been alone for 50 years (…)’. This is complete nonsense. There are couples all over the world that get together and break up. They mix and match. There is no definition.”
A Pattern of Unsupportive Relationships
Looking back, Potocka believes that while she encountered many seemingly wonderful men, none truly offered the support a partner should. “I met great artists, great men, but they, by loving me, loved themselves first of all,” she added. “I suddenly realized that none of these men supported me.”
The actress now recognizes that genuine partnership looks different—a realization that came after many years of introspection. “I felt that I was included in their lives, in the project. Yes, I was proud to take part in it. And that’s not what a relationship is about,” she explained. “It’s just the situation of partnership. Now with hindsight I see that it wasn’t.”
