The 3rd round of the 84th men’s and 79th women’s chess championships of Armenia has ended.

As reported by the Chess Federation of Armenia, Davit Tiraturyan, who has the lowest rating in the men’s championship, defeated Grandmaster Manuel Petrosyan. Davit Tiraturyan got a big advantage from the opening game and kept it until the end of the game.

Grandmaster Samvel Ter-Sahakyan also won. He defeated FIDE master Eric Chakryan.

The matches of Robert Philiposyan – Tigran Harutyunyan, Arthur Davtyan – Mamikon Gharibyan, Robert Hovhannisyan – Zaven Andriasyan ended in a draw.

Mamikon Gharibyan, Zaven Andriasyan and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, who have 2 points, are the leaders in the men’s championship after the 3rd round.

In the women’s championship, Meline Harutyunyan beat Maria Gevorgyan, the current women’s champion of Armenia, with black pieces.

There were no draws in the women’s match in the 3rd round. Susanna Gaboyan, Arpine Grigoryan, Milena Gasparyan and Polina Kobak respectively defeated Mariam Avetisyan, Alvard Stepanyan, Anna Khachatryan and Mariam Khachatryan.

After the 3rd round in the women’s championship, Milena Gasparyan is the sole leader, who won all 3 games.
