‘Thirukkural.. is a good name for the play..’ As usual, Mammootty-Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Naanmakam Mayakam has come without taking hold of the story. The film is coming to the theaters after the huge reviews and awards it made at the film festival. Even though it is described as a Malayalam movie, it is clear from the trailer that Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkum is also a Tamil movie.
Mammootty plays a theater artist named James in the film. A professional theater troupe including James is returning from a Velankanni Yatra before the new season begins. Asking the driver to stop midway along the way, James pulls into a nearby village like a familiar.
James’ behavior is as if he is Sundaram, who disappeared from the village two years ago. The plot of the film revolves around the give and take between James, the villagers in Tamil Nadu and other members of the drama committee.
S. The screenplay of the movie is by Harish. Theni Eshwar has handled the camera. Along with Mammootty, Ramya Pandian and Ashokan also played prominent roles in the film.
