Kollam: During the hartal called by the Popular Front in the state, a Popular Front activist was arrested for attacking the policemen at Pallimuk in Kollam. Shamnad, a native of Kootikada, was arrested. Shamnad escaped by running down the policemen who were trying to stop him from abusing the passengers.
Senior civil police officer Anthony and CPO Nikhil were injured in the incident. During the hartal, Shamnad was threatening and blocking the passengers on the road. According to the police, Shamnad, who tried to evade the police, hit the oncoming policemen on his bike and escaped.
