Khan Yu, 28, is a hydropower plant employee. He was staying with colleague Luo Yong when the 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Sichuan on September 5.

Khan and Luo were swept away by the floods caused by the earthquake. At one point they were without food and mobile signal for the whole day. Finally, both of them left the place on September 7. Then, they walked more than 12 miles.

But Khan, who is visually impaired, had lost his glasses and found it difficult to walk on the hilly terrain. He then made his friend Khan sit in one place and left saying that he was coming with the rescue team.
