Young Man Commits Suicide After Brutally Injuring Wife and Daughter
A horrific incident took place in Kollam in the early hours of Friday morning, as a young man brutally injured his wife and seven-year-old daughter before committing suicide by setting them on fire.
The man, identified as Rupesh (38), poured petrol on his wife Anju (27) and daughter Arushma (7) and set them ablaze at Pitavoor Latish Bhavan in Pathanapuram. The mother and daughter, who sustained serious injuries, are currently undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
The family was living on rent in Kulangara Nazir Khan’s house near Pathanapuram. Pathanapuram Police and the Fire Force responded to the incident and managed to extinguish the fire. Rupesh was rushed to Punalur Taluk Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Rupesh’s body has been kept at Punalur Taluk Hospital Mortuary. It was revealed that Rupesh and Anju had a love marriage, and Rupesh worked as an auto driver.
