English Premier League champions Manchester City have completed the signing of Brazilian international Savinho, making him the club’s first signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old, also known as Savio, moved from Troyes and signed a five-year contract with City.
Savio spent last season on loan at Girona, helping the team qualify for next season’s Champions League.
“I am very happy to join Manchester City, the Premier League champions, the Club World Cup winners and everyone knows they are the best team in the world right now, so being here is very exciting for me,” Savuso said in a statement.
Regarding his ambitions, he said: “I hope it will be one of the best seasons of my life,” adding: “I will work hard, I am a hard-working man, things did not come easy for me, I got here through hard work and dedication day after day.”
He continued: “The English Premier League is growing a lot and it can be difficult, yes, but as I said, we will work day by day.”
“We will have the best coach in the world, Pep. So he knows what to do to give us everything on the pitch, to make it as easy as possible to win the Premier League,” he concluded.
City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, said: “Safinho is a very exciting player and I think City fans will really enjoy seeing him play. What he achieved last season at Girona was outstanding and he is a complete player for Brazil and has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond.”
Savio was one of the players who stood out in the Spanish league last year, as he scored 11 goals and assisted in scoring 10 others. He was part of the Brazilian team in the Copa America and played 7 times for his country.
