Jeddah: The Boca Juniors won the Maradona Cup football tournament in Riyadh in memory of world footballer Ma Radona.
Boca won the Junior Cup on Tuesday by defeating Barcelona at the King Saud University’s Marseille Park Stadium in Riyadh. The match started in the first half with an open match between the two teams. The first half ended in a goalless draw but the excitement and competition continued into the second half.
Barcelona first netted in the 52nd minute through Farran Gutgla. In the 77th minute, Boca Juniors player Excel Sebalos scored the equalizer. Boca Juniors beat Barcelona 4-2 on penalties to win the title. The match for the Maradona Cup was attended by thousands, including Diego Maradona’s family and Saudi footballers. The competition was organized by the Public Recreation Authority as part of the Riyadh season.
