Mother’s Day,
Nehru Yuvakendra Virudhunagar and Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority organized the 75th Independence Day Celebration and World Youth Day Mini Marathon at Vembakottai on behalf of Indian Sports Club. Vembakkottai Panchayat Council President Arumugathai presided over the event. Virudhunagar District Sports Officer Raja Kodiyasaittu inaugurated the event. District Social Health Officer Rajkumar was present as the special invitee. More than 300 people participated in the mini marathon. The first prize is Rs. 5 thousand was won by Rajapalayam youth Mari Sarath. Ajith Kumar from Thoothukudi district received Rs.3 thousand as the 2nd prize and John Britto from Vembakot received Rs.2 thousand as the 3rd prize. Also 10 persons were awarded medals and certificates of appreciation. Certificates were also given to all the participants.
