March 25: In Heraklion, the largest Greek flag – It measures 1.5 acres

A Greek flag size 1.5 acre was erected in Heraklion, Crete, on the occasion of the events for its anniversary 25th of March.

The initiative belonged to businessman Theodoros Kalathakis, who once again wanted to express his pride for our ancestors who fought and sacrificed for freedom.

“It is a celebration of joy and pride” noted Mr. Kalathakis, who added that “the size of the flag has to do with the great soul of this people” and that the choice to raise this flag on every national anniversary is another way “to pass on the sacrifice of our ancestors and our pride to our children and grandchildren”.
