Universal Mardi Gras 2026: A Nightly Celebration of International Flavors and Spectacle

Universal Studios Florida will transform into a vibrant hub of culture and entertainment with the return of Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval from February 7 through April 4, 2026. The event, included with regular theme park admission or an annual pass, promises a nightly parade, immersive experiences, and a taste of global festivities.

Parade Route and Viewing Options

The heart of the celebration is the Universal Mardi Gras Parade 2026, which will wind its way through the park. Guests can enjoy the spectacle from various vantage points throughout the park. Viewing areas are available Thursday through Sunday. Those with a Universal Rewards Visa Signature Card or Universal Rewards Plus Visa Signature Card can secure a spot in a reserved area in front of Schwab’s Pharmacy, offered nightly throughout the event’s run. Space in both areas is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. A valid card must be presented for entry.

Exclusive Experiences: Dine with the Floats and More

For a truly unforgettable experience, a limited number of guests will have the chance to participate in the Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine Experience. This premium offering includes a three-course meal and a coveted spot on a Mardi Gras parade float. The experience begins at $94.99 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and requires separate, same-day theme park admission. Participants must be at least 48 inches tall, able to board and stand for the duration of the parade, and either 18 years or older or accompanied by a legal guardian. Additionally, riders must be able to transfer to a universal-provided wheelchair if needed.

In the hours leading up to the parade, guests can also enjoy pre-parade meet and greets with performers roaming the streets of New York, offering photo opportunities and the traditional tossing of beads.

A Showcase of Creativity: The Floats of Mardi Gras 2026

The parade itself will feature a dazzling array of floats, designed and built in partnership with Kern Studios, the renowned creators of the iconic Mardi gras floats of New Orleans. According to a company release, the floats are designed to be visually stunning and culturally rich.

Among the highlights are a majestic peacock float, complete with a golden crown and illuminated collar, and a King Cake float, symbolizing justice, faith, and power. The king Cake float also features the “King Baby,” representing the hidden plastic baby traditionally found in King cake, and believed to bring luck and prosperity to whoever finds it.

Returning favorites include A Taste of Mardi Gras float, complete with a shrimp Po’ boy, and a swamp-themed float featuring an alligator driving an airboat.The parade culminates with the iconic King Gator float, adorned with colorful scales, beads, and a regal crown, set against a backdrop of glowing fleurs-de-lys and “Mardi Gras” signs.
