davis, once considered among baseball’s brightest young talents, is aiming to revive his career in the Pacific Northwest.

Originally drafted in the second round by the Cubs in 2018, he blossomed at the Single-A level in 2019, posting a .305/.381/.525 slash line across 50 games.Following the cancellation of the 2020 minor league season, he quickly ascended thru the Cubs’ system, reaching Double-A in 2021 after just eight games at High-A.
His performance continued to impress, hitting .252/.367/.474 in 76 games for the Cubs’ Tennessee affiliate and then .268/.397/.536 in 16 Triple-A contests. This surge positioned Davis as one of the game’s most exciting prospects, seemingly poised for a debut during the 2022 season. Though, a tough start to the year and subsequent back surgery in early May derailed those plans.

By 2023, the Cubs were again contending, and the addition of cody Bellinger further elaborate Davis’s path. Chicago ultimately non-tendered Davis last November, making him a free agent.
Davis signed a minor league deal with the Yankees this past year, debuting with their Triple-A affiliate in late May after rehabbing his fractured ankle.
