The singer Mariona Escoda is aware of the labels and stereotypes that have fallen on her after her time on the television show “Eufòria”, of which she was the winner. For this, he vindicates himself in his first album “Another way”, published by Música Global, an album where he experiments “within pop with all its variations”. Escoda states that he has just gone through a process where he has been labeled a lot and “wanted to get out of here” and experiment with the album he has now released. The singer will present the album today at the Girona Auditorium, as part of the Strenes festival.

“In another way” was born after “Euphória”. The first song “Ara que ets aquí” was written in August of last year and Escoda explains that it is the song that represents her the most. “I left ‘Eufória’, I signed with Música Global and in July they told me that in April I had to present an album”. The singer had half a year to push the album forward while acting in “The Little Prince”, in addition to university and internships. “I went to a lot of time trials and we worked a lot.”

I was labeled and stereotyped as a cute girl who is perfect, but I’m wrong, I’m a hooligan and a mess sometimes

Escoda has created the album together with production names such as Roger Rodés, Àlex Pérez and Alícia Rey. In some compositions, she has been accompanied by Manu Guix, Adrià Salas or Àlex Pérez. It’s a record I wanted to experiment with. “I’ve just gone through a process where I’ve been labeled a lot and I wanted to get out of here and experiment within pop with all its variations.” Based on the same sonority, concept and voice, which acts as a guiding thread, Escoda bets on an album with very different songs. “It’s a record that hits a lot of sticks and I’m very satisfied with it, it’s not what I thought I’d do, but it’s what I wanted to do.”

She is very grateful to «Eufória» for the opportunity it gave her and to all the people who made the program go ahead. However, she indicates that she was given a label and stereotype of “good girl, cute girl, who doesn’t make mistakes, who is perfect, who is very fine and who only sings ballads, but I’m wrong, I’m a hooligan and a disaster at times”. She says she has an empowered woman part that goes beyond the cute little girl.
