Initiated by the Fanoramic Association for the Arts, with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and in partnership with the Marrakech-Safi region, this edition placed under the theme “Women in the heritage of ‘performing art’, celebrates female creativity in various fields linked to the design of shows and plays (writing, directing, scenography, etc.).
In this wake, the artistic director of the forum, Nezha Haikoun, explained that the organizers opted for this theme this year in order to shed light on the presence of women in different types and forms of performance.
In a statement to MAP, she also highlighted the strong presence of Moroccan women on the cultural scene, stressing that theater remains a form of creativity which reflects this strong feminine presence.
For her part, Vermesk Mustafa, Kurdish professor and playwright, indicated that Moroccan theater is full of great artistic and technical skills, noting having discovered Moroccan culture, in particular theater and its pioneer, Abdelkarim Berrechid, since she was a student. at the Faculty of Arts.
In a similar statement, Ms. Mustafa clarified that she had been following Moroccan theater since the 1980s, adding that she discovered the role of women in Moroccan theater during the Erbil International Theater Festival, marked by the participation of Moroccan troupes.
Note that the program for this 5th edition includes shows, the presentation of theatrical plays intended for adults and others for children, in addition to a master class on the experiences of Arab women creators and a conference focused on “Women in heritage of the performing arts.
The menu also includes a tribute to female figures, artistic workshops, the signing of works and the presentation of new Fanoramic publications.
