Speaking on this occasion, the president of the festival and founder of the Aquarium theater, Naima Zitan, underlined that this cultural and artistic event, which celebrates women, aims to be a unique space for exchange, debate, questioning and discovery.

She also highlighted the important place occupied by the arts, particularly theater, within any society in terms of development, praising the valuable contribution of the participating foreign troupes and all of the collaborators and partners of the festival.

For his part, the writer, playwright and member of the festival organizing committee, Issam El Yousfi, indicated that this edition promises a rich and diverse program, explaining that between shows, debate meetings, artistic performances and masterclasses, “Jassad” aims to be a place for exchanging experiences of committed women.

“This edition also represents a challenge, an adventure, a responsibility, as well as a growing desire to place this event in a lasting manner in the national and international artistic landscape,” he added, emphasizing that “this desire to “anchoring in time allows this artistic event to truly become a recognized place of expression for women artists who have chosen the stage as a form of self-expression.”

During this evening, a vibrant tribute was paid to the actress, performer and female figure of the Moroccan theater scene, Hassna Tamtaoui, in recognition of her unwavering commitment to the influence of theater in Morocco, as well as for her rich artistic career. in the field.

This ceremony ended with the presentation of the theatrical play “Akher Marra” (last time) by the Tunisian director, playwright and actress, Wafa Taboubi.

The second edition of the “Jassad” Festival of women directors is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Communication, the National Human Rights Council, the Moroccan National Tourism Office, the French Institute of Morocco, the Institute of Italian Culture in Rabat, UN Women, and the Orient-Occident Foundation.
