Initiated by the National School of Commerce and Management (ENCG) of Marrakech, this event was an opportunity to pay tribute, recognize and highlight particular efforts carried out by student clubs belonging to this school, with emphasis placed on the positive interaction of the components of society to provide the necessary support and assistance to the victims of the earthquake.
In a speech for the occasion, Ms. Fatima Arib, director of ENCG-Marrakech, said that this event celebrates “Tameghrabit” which reflects the cohesion and active solidarity of Moroccans both during moments of joy and during difficult circumstances. , noting that “Tameghrabit” is a constant Moroccan notion which illustrates affection, solidarity, service, edification, and overcoming challenges for Morocco, a Morocco of generations and tomorrow.
And to continue that this notion is not the subject of teaching but is acquired because it embodies this collective love for good, solidarity, tolerance and a soul which flows in the veins of Moroccans and a distinctive trait for them both within the homeland and abroad, noting that “Tameghrabit” is an excellent theme for major projects on the intellectual, cultural and social levels with extensions in the areas of assistance, accommodation and attention to vulnerable groups within society.
It is also a philosophy of contribution and solidarity volunteering, the culture of blood donation, the consecration of the culture of edification and the preservation of intangible heritage, she continued.
For his part, the president of the Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) of Marrakech, Mr. Belaid Bougadir, praised the attachment of the rising generations to their roots and to all the qualities intrinsic to the Moroccan citizen on the cultural level, scientific and literary.
On another note, he said that the UCA has more than 125 thousand young people (men and women), all talents and hopes ready and determined to offer everything they have in the service of the Fatherland.
In this sense, he welcomed this outpouring of solidarity with which the students joined to lend a helping hand to the victims of the earthquake which struck several regions of the Kingdom.
For his part, the Head of Division of Educational Affairs at the Regional Academy of Education and Training in Marrakech-Safi, Mohamed El Korachi, highlighted the major role enjoyed by civil society associations and many of civic institutions and at their head the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection in terms of solidarity with the students (girls and boys) who were transferred from one zone to the other and from one establishment to another, highly welcoming this spirit of active citizenship which the Moroccans demonstrated during this exceptional circumstance.
The “Morocco Awards” ceremony was marked by the screening of two documentary films on the concept of “Tamegrhabit” which illustrates the generosity of Moroccans, regardless of their levels and their age, as well as the authenticity and singularity of the substratum. of Moroccans in terms of solidarity, which had exceeded all predictions to serve as a lesson to the world on what true humanism is.
On the menu of this event in which the presidents of establishments under the UCA also took part, in addition to a number of young people from areas affected by the earthquake, included tributes paid to certain local, regional and national institutions, with a specific tribute for the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region for the solidarity initiatives carried out under the “South-North March” sign.
