The diplomat underlined Morocco’s commitment to democracy and social development, recalling the various achievements that Morocco has experienced since 1999, in the economic, infrastructural, industrial, health and diplomatic fields.

These achievements have resolutely positioned Morocco on a promising development trajectory, anchoring modernity and strengthening the macro-economic resilience of the country, said the diplomat, citing the vast infrastructure projects launched in the Kingdom, including the high-speed rail. speed, the Tangier-Med port and the Dakhla Atlantic Port, a megaproject which serves as a gateway to sub-Saharan Africa.

The ambassador, on the other hand, emphasized the dynamism experienced by the Moroccan Sahara issue, illustrated in particular by the growing support of the international community for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

Mr. Rachadi also highlighted the excellent relations that exist between Morocco and South Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1962.

Since then, these relations have grown considerably and continue to prosper thanks to the commitment of both countries, he said.

Speaking at the reception, South Korean Government Special Representative for Africa Hong Jin Wook highlighted the historical ties between the two countries since the Korean War.

“The historical relations linking the Korean and Moroccan people date back well before 1962,” observed the representative of the South Korean government, recalling the participation of Moroccan soldiers in the Korean War, making their contribution to the emergence of the new Korea.

Recalling the interest that the African continent arouses on the economic level, the South Korean official underlined the central place occupied by Morocco in African emergence.

“The Kingdom of Morocco is a strategic hub between Europe, Africa and the Middle East,” Wook said, stressing that Seoul wants to further strengthen the already strong economic and political cooperation relations with Morocco.

“I am convinced that Morocco will continue to play the pivotal role in cooperation between Africa and South Korea,” he said, highlighting Morocco’s place as a solid partner of his country in Africa. .

Other personalities including Mr. Woonki Lyeo, president of the Korea-Africa Foundation, under the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the reforms introduced in various areas under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He noted that these reforms had the effect of strengthening Morocco’s progress while making the Kingdom a model of stability and prosperity in the region.

The South Korean official wanted, on this occasion, to pay tribute to the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Sovereign’s commitment to the prosperity of His people.

Morocco is the first African country in which South Korea has opened a diplomatic representation, he recalled, expressing confidence that the two countries will continue to work together to promote growth and generate prosperity.

Mr. Kim Byung Kwan, president of the Korea Importers Association, an organization bringing together more than 140,000 South Korean companies, for his part, highlighted the progress made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, noting that the leadership of the Sovereign has made it possible to enhance Morocco’s position on the international scene and favored international partnerships, paving the way for fruitful collaborations between Morocco and South Korea.
