Marrakech: “The family and the foundations of the social state”, at the heart of the 3rd RNIist Women’s Congress

Marked by the presence of the President of the RNI and Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, as well as members of the political bureau and party activists, alongside African leaders from Mauritania, Nigeria and Niger, as well as from Europe and the Canada, intervenes on the sidelines of strategic projects and projects aimed at improving the situation of the family and women.

In a speech during the plenary session, the member of the party’s political bureau and president of the Regional Association of RNIist Women of Marrakech-Safi, Meriem Rmili, indicated that this meeting constitutes an opportunity to highlight the efforts and the programs implemented with the aim of establishing the foundations of the social State, in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines and as part of the government’s efforts to consolidate the bases of overall development, “a matter of crucial importance for a sustainable future for all.

In this sense, she underlined the party’s position on the importance of prioritizing future generations, considered as the pillar of the future, noting that this objective can only be achieved by paying particular attention to women and by ensuring them empowerment in all areas, so that they can be active partners in the construction of a modern and progressive Morocco.

For her part, the president of the National Federation of RNI Women, Amina Benkhadra, noted that the choice of the theme of this congress is part of the current context, marked by the government’s commitment to the implementation of major projects. development with a view to establishing the foundations of the social state.

“As part of the dynamics experienced by the Kingdom to strengthen the foundations of the social State, the family has benefited from particular attention and has been placed at the heart of government concerns, in accordance with the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI “, she noted, adding that the Federation focused its attention during this congress on the adoption of family issues and its components in the social state.

She also underlined the continued commitment of the Federation to support this dynamic so that women contribute, alongside men, to the building of a Morocco of dignity and progress under the enlightened leadership of HM the King, given that the Sovereign continually attaches paramount importance to the support of women and the protection of the family.

In addition, Ms. Benkhadra emphasized the contribution of the RNI in the societal debate aimed at improving the situation of women in all aspects of life, by developing its proposals according to an approach which makes the family the solid pillar of society and the home for all its members, in a framework of balance and cohesion.

“The Federation aims, through this meeting, to highlight and recognize the efforts made by all components of the government during the first half of the government mandate, in the implementation of structural reforms and important development projects, in accordance with the High Royal Directives, thus placing the Moroccan family at the heart of their concerns,” she continued.

For her part, the Vice President of the women’s wing of the Progressive Party of Nigeria (APC), Bello Zainab Ibrahim, addressed the evolution of women’s political participation in her country, highlighting the need to introduce more mechanisms to expand this participation and allow women to access positions of decision-making and responsibility.

Her turn came, Fourera Sotty Maïga, of the Women’s Movement for the Protection of the Homeland in Niger, highlighted the active role of women in contributing to political stability and conflict resolution in the countries, calling for further strengthening of empowerment of women in politics, economics and society in general.

She also highlighted the importance of sharing experiences between partisan bodies in African countries to promote the situation of women in all areas and strengthen their political participation.

The president of the Mauritanian Federation of Regions, Fatimatou Mint Abdel Malick, for her part, declared that the choice of the theme of this congress reflects a deep understanding of the link between building a family on solid foundations and strengthening of the social cohesion of the State as well as its development, considering the family as the basis of any community project aimed at success.

Ms. Mint Abdel Malick, also president of the Nouakchott region, then looked at the efforts made by the Mauritanian authorities to enshrine the principle of equality between women and men, as well as the development of plans, programs and strategies aimed at the economic, political and social empowerment of women.

At the close of this session, Mustapha Baitas, member of the political bureau of the RNI, Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and government spokesperson, stressed that the third edition of the RNIist Women’s Congress offers a favorable opportunity to engage an authentic, in-depth, serious and responsible debate on pressing issues concerning women, positioning the Kingdom as a forerunner in these bold and courageous discussions.

He affirmed that the party “will maintain its commitment to the development process”, highlighting the responsibility of elected officials to comply with the enlightened vision of the Sovereign.

This meeting was marked by the presentation of an institutional film highlighting the achievements made in favor of the family and society during the first half of the government mandate.

The program also included workshops on the themes, “The education system and its role in improving the situation of women”, “The generalization of social protection and the strengthening of the national health system”, “Aid direct social security as a cornerstone of the preservation of family dignity”, “The importance of women’s involvement in politics as an essential foundation for the establishment of the social State”, and “The social and solidarity economy as a powerful lever to deal with crises.
