Martini Hospital abolishes shaking hands

by time news

Doctors and nurses no longer shake hands in the Martini Hospital in Groningen. Giving a handshake was already abolished during the corona pandemic, but the hospital wants to keep this away permanently to minimize the chance of spreading bacteria and virus. Skipr reports this.

The request to patients and visitors to disinfect their hands on arrival also remains. When coughing and sneezing, the advice remains to do so in the elbow and if someone has corona-related complaints, he or she is asked to stay at home.

The Martini Hospital is not the only hospital to abolish shaking hands. It no longer happens in the Medisch Spectrum Twente for health reasons.
