Tehran: “Masha Amini died due to ill health,” the Iranian government explained.

A medical report released by the Iranian government said, “Masha Amini’s death was not caused by blows to her head and vital organs. He underwent brain surgery at the age of eight. This resulted in the death of Masha. The evidence for this is clear in the CT scans,” it said.

However, the protestors did not accept this explanation of the Iranian government. They are accused of covering up Masha’s death.

In Iran, hijab is compulsory for girls as young as 9 years old to the elderly. A special police unit called ‘Kast Ershad’ patrols public places to monitor the way women dress. On September 13, Masha Amini (22) from Sahis city, Kurdistan province of Iran, went with her family to visit a relative in the capital city of Tehran.

Then the special force police intercepted Masha and accused her of not wearing hijab properly. They arrested him and took him away in a van. He was brutally beaten in police custody. Masha suffered a serious head injury and went into a coma. He died on September 16. Masha’s death has now led to massive protests in Iran. In relation to this matter, it is noteworthy that the United States had imposed economic sanctions on the important leaders of Iran.
