Maurizio Merli, unforgotten Italian actor, was particularly known for having interpreted numerous police films in vogue in the 70s. Here then is that Saturday 20 August on Cine34 the actor is honored with two films, “Violent Naples” and “An inconvenient policeman”. His beginnings do not go back to cinema but to photo novels (he posed for a long time for the magazine Grand Hotel) to make his debut in cinema in 1963, as an extra in Luchino Visconti’s Il Gattopardo. On March 10, 1989 in Rome, while he was playing tennis at the Casetta Bianca club on the Cassia with a friend, the actor died suddenly, very young, at the age of 49, under the eyes of his daughter.
