Omaha Women’s Tennis Announces Challenging 2026 Schedule

Omaha Women’s Tennis is gearing up for a competitive spring season, with a 2026 schedule designed to prepare teh team for Summit League play, as announced by head coach Adam Summitt on Monday. The schedule features a mix of neutral site, home, and away matches, including a trip to California during spring break and a culminating appearance at the Summit League Championship in Tulsa, oklahoma.
“We are excited for the challenge that awaits us this upcoming spring,” Summitt said. “We feel that we have put together a schedule that will prepare us for Summit League play come March. This will challenge players right away and see what we are capable of. We have a young team and this experience will be valuable for them as we grow throughout the season. We hope to see a lot of fans coming out to our home matches and supporting the women.”
Early season Tests in January and February
The Mavericks will kick off their dual match season with a neutral site contest against James Madison on January 17 in Lincoln, Nebraska. They will promptly follow that with back-to-back matches against the Nebraska Cornhuskers the next day. January 23 marks the home opener for Omaha, hosting a doubleheader against Concordia (Neb.) and Sioux Falls. The month concludes with a trip to Chicago to face DePaul on January 30 and UIC on January 31.
February begins with another neutral site match, this time against Montana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Omaha will then enjoy its longest home stand of the season,welcoming Missouri State on February 13 and Northern Iowa on Valentine’s Day. Western illinois will complete the home stretch on February 20, before a short trip to play Creighton on February 22.
Road Challenges and Summit League Readiness in March
March will see the Mavericks hosting Chicago State on March 6. A series of road matches follow, including contests against Drake on March 8, Lindenwood on March 13, and Saint Louis on March 14. The team will then head to California for matches during spring break, facing Cal State Northridge on March 19 and UC Riverside on March 21.
Summit League play officially begins on March 27 with a home match against St. Thomas, followed by a visit from Oral Roberts the next day. Further league competition includes road matches at North Dakota on April 4 and South Dakota on April 10, with Kansas City hosting the final road match of the regular season on April 12.
Championship Bound
The Summit League Championship will be held on April 24 and 25 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, bringing the regular season to a close.
