The Federal Board of the Union of Values ​​thanked him in a statement published on Sunday “for his willingness to avert further political damage to the Union of Values ​​by taking this step”. The 57-year-old was nominated last week by the AfD leadership as a candidate for the federal presidential election on February 13 and was then excluded from the CDU until further notice.
