Max Verstappen reflects on his future in Formula 1, amidst rumors⁣ of his potential move ⁢to Mercedes or Aston Martin in 2026. The three-time world champion is committed‍ to Red Bull for next year but hints at future decisions.

“First⁤ of all, you shouldn’t make decisions ⁣based on emotion,” Verstappen said. “That can always backfire on you. I’m⁣ also a fairly patient person. I’m not ⁣too stressed, not too anxious.”

Verstappen acknowledges⁣ the importance ⁢of loyalty, citing his strong relationship with ⁣Red Bull. However, he expresses doubts about the team’s engine‍ project for 2026.

“Are there important people waiting on the team? We have our own engine project, how’s that going?” he questioned. “I believe‍ in it, but⁤ you have to be realistic. ‌You’re fighting against people who have been building⁢ engines for over 100 years.”

The Dutchman emphasizes the ⁤need for patience ⁤and a balanced approach to the future.

“I don’t want to be too positive or negative. I stay ⁤in the middle, and you have‌ to be patient. There are‌ many things that have to stay ⁢together, ⁢or come together, so that‌ I can get⁤ the value to consider in the future, not only in 2026, but beyond, and that’s very good, I’m patient.”

Verstappen ⁣also expresses‍ caution about the effectiveness of‌ upcoming Formula⁤ 1 regulations.

“It will be very different. A bit slower in‍ terms of lap times in most ⁤places,” he said. “It is very difficult to predict what will happen with the new rules. Is ⁤it positive, is ⁣it negative?”

He chooses to wait and see how the new regulations impact the sport.
