Political analyst Karen Bekaryan said in a conversation with journalists, referring to the government’s motives for arresting Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan, it is another episode of the usual theater.
“Psychological intimidation of one’s own people is the signature of this government in all dimensions. starting from this type of episodes and ending with mass, universal intimidation: intimidation by war, intimidation by defeat, so that the people do not suddenly think that they have resistance, dignity. These are all episodes of violation of dignity, and they are the heaviest and most painful,” said Kaaren Bekaryan.
He also drew attention to the silence of international structures and embassies regarding human rights violations in Armenia, which can be perceived by the authorities as encouragement of their actions.
“If the Secretary General of NATO can come to Yerevan and tell the Prime Minister that I am delighted with your leadership, if that does not encourage all this, then what is,” said Karen Bekaryan.
