Maysan Agriculture announces the volume of wheat received and expects an abundant season

The Maysan Agriculture Directorate announced today, Friday, the size of the quantities of wheat received so far, while it expected an abundant season with good varieties.

The Director of Maysan Agriculture, Majid Jumaa, told the (INA): “The wheat marketing season in Maysan Governorate (the season of blessing, abundant goodness, and creativity) continues at the Silo Al-Amara and Al-Tayeb Complex sites, at an increasing pace, and under official supervision that includes the head of the main supervisory committee supervising marketing.” And the follow-up of marketing in Maysan Governorate, headed by the Deputy Governor of Maysan and Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural Committee, Munther Rahim Al-Shawai, and in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Maysan Governorate Council, Faleh Al-Nouri, the Director of Commercial Control, the representative of the Iraqi National Security Service, the National Security Directorate in Maysan, and the representative of the General Union of Agricultural Associations.
Jumaa added, “The quantities received so far have reached 17,190 tons of wheat,” expecting that “the crop this year will be abundant and of good varieties, and will exceed (240) thousand tons for contracted farmers within the agricultural plan and outside the agricultural plan.”
He continued: “The quantity may exceed (300) thousand tons if the quantities produced by other non-contracted farmers are relied upon due to the lack of a water quota for them to contract with the state, and they cultivate their lands relying on wells and rain.”
