According to data presented during a ceremony, organized on the occasion of the celebration of World Civil Protection Day, under the theme “Innovative technology at the service of civil protection”, in the presence of the governor of the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, Yassine Jari, and several civil and political figures, these interventions are distributed between the civil protection services of M’diq (3,357), Fnideq (2,857) and Martil (2,361).
The number of civil protection interventions recorded a significant increase during the summer period, due to the large number of tourists who flock to the region’s beaches.
Civil protection elements also carried out 7,998 outpatient interventions in 2023 and extinguished the 3 fires which broke out in the forests of the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture, in addition to 97 fires declared in urban areas.
Concerning the surveillance of the prefecture’s beaches which extend over 30 km, the same source noted that the number of monitored beaches reached 12, thanks to the deployment of around ten emergency material resources, with the mobilization of 16 supervisors and 260 seasonal rescue swimmers.
During this period, Civil Protection services saved 2,545 people from drowning.
This event was punctuated by the organization of open days, which are marked by various events, namely demonstrations of emergency, rescue and fire extinguishing interventions, awareness sessions on the prevention of domestic accidents, and the exhibition of logistical means deployed in emergency situations, with the projection of information capsules and the distribution of flyers, to instill the culture of risk in citizens and encourage them to become active in their own safety .
