Indore: Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma said that statistics should be put in proper perspective while publishing them.

Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century on the 3rd and final day of the match against New Zealand in Indore. This is his first century since 2020. After 3 years, news came out in the media that Rohit Sharma was the centurion. This has made Rohit Sharma unhappy.

He told reporters:

There have been reports in the media that I will reach 100 after 2020. That statistic is true. But I think it doesn’t capture the right information. I have played only 12 ODIs in the last 3 years. After 3 years the news that I scored a hundred means that I have not played well for 3 years.

No one played cricket in 2020 when the corona wave happened. We were all sitting at home. We rarely played ODIs. And at that time I was injured. So, I didn’t play too many ODIs. I had played only 2 Test matches. It’s true. The media should have included these figures when publishing the news.

So I request that the statistics should be given in the right perspective. The companies that broadcast the matches on television should also give the information in the right direction.

Last year we played more T20 matches. Currently, Suryakumar Yadav is the best batsman in the world. Last year he scored 2 centuries in T20 Internationals. No one else has done that. This is what he said.

Don’t miss out!
