NUSA DUA, Aug. 2, 2025 — Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chairperson of the PDI-P, officially announced and inaugurated the party’s Central Leadership Council (DPP) for the 2025-2030 period during the PDI-P’s Sixth Congress held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on Saturday.
Megawati Appoints DPP Leadership, Leaves Secretary-General Position Open
Megawati Soekarnoputri has appointed 37 individuals to key strategic positions within the PDI-P leadership for the next five years, but the crucial Secretary-General role remains unfilled.

Megawati Soekarnoputri has officially named 37 members to the PDI-P’s Central Leadership Council (DPP) for the 2025-2030 term, a significant move solidifying the party’s direction. However, the key position of Secretary-General remains open, with Megawati temporarily holding the role herself.
The announcement came during the PDI-P’s Sixth Congress in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Thirty-seven individuals were appointed to various strategic fields within the DPP.
“The Secretary General has not been decided by Mother. So the mother is still concurrently,” stated Komarudin Watubun, Chairperson of the Congress Steering Committee, at a press conference following the event.
Watubun, a politician from Papua, admitted he did not know the precise reason for the delay in appointing a new Secretary-General. “Surely mothers have more mature considerations for the internal interests of the party or bigger,” he concluded, suggesting a deliberate and thoughtful process behind the decision.
The inauguration ceremony itself was led by Megawati, who asked for the readiness of the appointed management. “On behalf of the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan DPP, I installed the PDI Perjuangan DPP to help party work. Are you willing to be inaugurated?” Megawati asked, as quoted from a press release. The nominated management responded in unison, “Willing!”
Megawati then guided the oath of office for all management members present at the congress.
Among the notable appointments are Ganjar Pranowo, who will chair the Government and Regional Autonomy Division; Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, widely known as Ahok, who will lead the Economy Division; and Puan Maharani, who is appointed as Chair of Politics.
