A Chinese-Australian man dressed as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was ejected ⁣from the⁢ stands⁣ of the 2024 Paris Olympics and‌ detained by French police, reports say.

On the 10th (local time),‌ Howard Lee, who uses the pseudonym ‘Howard X’, posted ⁢a video on his X (formerly Twitter) account in which he dressed up as ⁤Kim Jong-un and⁢ wrote, “I filmed the⁢ video and was detained by the police. However, we did not break any laws.”

It was reported that another ⁢man cosplaying as⁣ Trump was also sent off next to Lee during the soccer final between Spain and France.

Lee later claimed he was dragged away by six security ⁣guards and prevented ⁣from watching the rest of the match. The reason ‌for⁢ their ejection is⁢ understood to be their political‌ expressions. The International Olympic Committee ⁤(IOC)‍ prohibits political, religious, and racial propaganda in Olympic stadiums and ‍facilities.

After being released by the police, Lee attended the ⁢Olympic closing ceremony dressed as Kim Jong-un and ⁤holding a Winnie the Pooh doll.

Lee’s behavior has sparked attention in the past. He has previously appeared in Kim Jong-un costumes at international events such as the 2018 Pyeongchang⁢ Winter Olympics and the Singapore summit.
