In the meantime, regarding the measures taken, following the case of meningitis in a student studying in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Peloponnese, which is housed in the facilities of the former TEI of Patras together with other faculties of the University of Patras, Yannis Karvelis told APE -MPE that “the protocol provides for specific measures and the relevant instructions have already been given”.

The 20-year-old student is in the ICU

The third case of meningitis concerns a 20-year-old student, who was found by his parents at home in a bad condition.

The young man was taken to the “Agios Andreas” hospital in a serious condition and then transferred to the University Hospital in Patras, where he is intubated in the ICU.

It is recalled that the first case was registered in mid-January in a first-year student of the Shipbuilding department, while at the end of February a student of Mathematics fell ill during the occupations.
