Morehead State Dominates Alice Lloyd in High-Scoring Affair, 115-65

A commanding performance by point guard Josiah LeGree and a blistering offensive display propelled Morehead State to a decisive 115-65 victory over Alice Lloyd (Ky.) on Saturday, marking the Eagles’ final non-conference game of the 2025-26 season.

LeGree Leads Eagles to Victory

Josiah LeGree delivered a standout performance, recording his first career double-double with a season-high 20 points and 10 assists. The senior guard showcased his shooting prowess, sinking a career-best six three-pointers while shooting 6-of-8 from distance. He also committed only one turnover, demonstrating exceptional ball control.

“We really focused on moving the ball and finding the open man,” a team spokesperson stated. “Josiah did a great job of facilitating and taking smart shots when they presented themselves.”

Offensive Firepower and Bench Production

Morehead State’s offense was relentless, shooting an impressive 60 percent (44-of-74) from the field and connecting on a season-high 14 three-pointers. Seven different Eagles contributed from beyond the arc, highlighting the team’s balanced attack. The Eagles’ bench proved to be a significant factor, contributing a remarkable 65 points – just one shy of their season high for non-starters.

Davion Cunningham added 18 points to the Eagles’ total, while Farrell scored a season-high 17 points. Jon Carroll rounded out the double-digit scorers with 14 points and seven rebounds. The Eagles dominated the boards, out-rebounding Alice Lloyd 48-25, with Tamaury Releford leading the team with nine rebounds.

Early Challenge and Second-Half Surge

Despite an early lead by Alice Lloyd, who went up 13-8 with 15:43 remaining in the first period, Morehead State quickly responded. LeGree’s three-pointer at the 13:07 mark gave the Eagles a 21-18 lead, a lead they would never relinquish.

Alice Lloyd Struggles Against Eagles’ Dominance

Evin Eversole, the center for Alice Lloyd, was the lone bright spot for his team, achieving a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. However, it wasn’t enough to counter Morehead State’s overwhelming offensive power. Three other Alice Lloyd players also finished with 11 points apiece.

Looking Ahead for Morehead State

Morehead State concluded its non-conference schedule with a 4-7 record but has gained momentum with wins in its first two Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) games, bringing their overall record to 6-7. The team now looks ahead to the bulk of the conference season, aiming to build on this dominant performance. LeGree’s six three-pointers tied him for third most in an Eagle game since the 2011-12 season, signaling a potential turning point for the team’s offensive capabilities.
