These wins propelled Penn to an impressive 5-1 overall season record. A team spokesperson stated the program is “focused on translating recent successes into strong performances against top-tier Ivy League competition.”
Doubles Dominance and Singles Strength
Penn showcased its all-around strength in its recent matches, particularly in doubles play. The fourth-ranked doubles team of Manfredi Graziani and Aaron Sandler delivered a standout performance, defeating Delaware’s Toby Lock and Euan Mackenzie, ranked 77th nationally, with a score of 6-4.
The team also demonstrated impressive depth in singles competition. Penn achieved clean sweeps against both the Delaware Blue Hens and the Saint Joseph’s Hawks. Luke Butera, Justin Chung, and Mathew Rutter secured victories in singles matches against Delaware, while Rutter, along with the freshman duo of Adam Bain and Vojtech Vales, clinched wins against Saint Joseph’s.
