The vehicle supports 330kW DC fast charging, which allows for adding 300 kilometers of range in approximately 10 minutes under optimal conditions. It also comes standard with a 22kW AC charger. Mercedes-Benz is also offering MB.CHARGE public charging credits as an alternative to the complimentary AC wall-box for new battery electric vehicle customers.
Hyperscreen Spans the Dashboard Width
Inside the cabin, the most prominent feature is the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which spans the width of the dashboard. The interior includes a 15-speaker 3D Burmester sound system, ambient lighting, and a panoramic glass roof with illuminated stars. For safety and driver assistance, the vehicle is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, which utilizes eight cameras and five radars, alongside a 360-degree surround-view camera and nine airbags, Motownindia confirmed. Customers can select from three interior color palettes: Black, Beech Brown, or Ivory Beige.
The exterior design features an illuminated grille with 914 individual pixel lighting elements that create animation patterns when the vehicle starts or stops. Dimensionally, the electric SUV is 140mm longer, 23mm wider, and 12mm taller than its combustion-powered counterpart, with a wheelbase of 2,972mm—an increase of 84mm over the traditional GLC.
Chakan Plant Begins Local Manufacturing
The GLC Electric is the first locally manufactured Mercedes-Benz based on the MB.EA-M platform. The company’s Chakan plant in Pune now joins the Mercedes-Benz production facility in Bremen, Germany, in manufacturing the model. The brand has invested an additional Rs 200 crore in 2026 toward manufacturing operations, new product startups, and process digitization, bringing the company’s total cumulative investment in India to Rs 3,200 crore.

Market response has been strong, with the company reporting over 1,000 bookings since the reservation process opened in October. Due to this demand, the model is sold out until March 2027, according to Vtvgujarati. Deliveries are scheduled to commence around Diwali.
