The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has rejected Mercedes’ protests against the results of the last round of the Formula 1 World Championship. The team intends to appeal this decision. During the race, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen beat Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes to become the champion.

At the end of the championship, Verstappen scored 395.5 points in the overall standings and became the champion for the first time. The constructors’ Cup went to Mercedes for the eighth time in a row with 617.5 points.
