The Norwegian royal family cannot rest: Marius Borg Høiby (27) was arrested for the first time in Oslo at the beginning of August for allegedly causing bodily harm and property damage in his girlfriend’s apartment at the time. It was not her client who reported the incident, but instead the police opened the case, said lawyer Hege Salomon. However, she wants to cooperate with the investigators.
Borg Høiby denies the new allegations, as his lawyer Øyvind Bratlien told several Norwegian media. The police confirmed the arrest of Mette-Marit’s son in a press release. It has not yet been decided whether he should remain in prison longer.
Crown Prince speaks of “serious allegations”
The castle did not want to comment on the new allegations to the Norwegian media. Crown Prince Haakon commented on the allegations against his stepson during a visit to Jamaica, where he is scheduled to stay until Wednesday as a special ambassador for the UN development program UNDP.

Our thoughts are with all those affected and we trust that the police and the judiciary are doing a good job. “I might add that I want to be at home with Mette today. I miss her,” he said. Høiby is the eldest son of Mette-Marit. It comes from one of the princess’ previous relationships. Together with the heir to the throne Crown Prince Haakon (51), she has two other children, Hereditary Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20) and Prince Sverre Magnus (18).
