The Macy’s Great American Alumni Marching Band (MGAAMB) will participate in the 100th Anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2026, marking a significant milestone for the band as it celebrates its own 20th anniversary. The organization is extending an invitation to all past members to return to New York City for this momentous occasion.
A Historic Return to the Big Apple
For two decades, the MGAAMB has fostered a community of passionate musicians. This return to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade represents not only a celebration of the band’s history but also a chance to create a new chapter in its legacy. Organizers are hoping for a substantial turnout, with the ambition of the MGAAMB performing as a stand-alone band, complete with a specially designed banner, recognizing their 20 years of musical excellence.
“We want the MGAAMB to be recognized for our momentous 20th Anniversary during this special parade,” a senior official stated.
Important Registration Information
Registration for the 2026 parade will open on January 15, 2026, and is exclusively for alumni – those who have already graduated from high school. Current high school band members planning to participate in the 2026 parade through their school should utilize a separate application process. Those who were members of the 2025 MGAMB will officially become alumni upon their graduation in 2026. Interested alumni are directed to email completed registration forms to [email protected], with a registration deadline of May 15, 2026. Early registration is encouraged to help organizers accurately assess participation numbers.
