11 bodies were found in the rubble after the collapse of a multi-story building in Miami, said the head of Miami-Dade County Danielle-Levine Kava. 150 people are still missing, reports AP.
The 12-story building partially collapsed on June 24 in the city of Surfside, which is part of the Miami metropolitan area. About half of the 130 apartments were destroyed. Search work continues. They are complicated by rains. Morabito Consultants, whose inspectors carried out an inspection of the building in 2018, reported that it had warned the governing association about the need to renovate the building, but by the time of the collapse, significant renovation had not begun.
