The voice actor for a beloved “Grand Theft Auto” character, Ned Luke, has revealed that the individuals responsible for a disturbing “SWATing” incident during a 2023 livestream have been convicted and are awaiting sentencing.
Luke, known for voicing Mike DeSanta in “Grand Theft Auto V,” regularly streams gameplay and engages with the “GTA” community. The incident occurred on Thanksgiving Day in November 2023, when Luke abruptly ended a live broadcast after receiving a call about a fabricated police situation at his home.
“SWATing” involves deceiving emergency services into dispatching a large police response to an unsuspecting person’s address-a dangerous and illegal practice. Luke shared a letter from the U.S.Department of Justice’s Victim Notification System on social media, signaling progress in the case.

Dated december 10, 2025, the letter confirms Luke was identified as a victim-or potential victim-during the federal criminal examination.A sentencing hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on january 27, 2026, in Washington, DC, though Luke’s attendance is voluntary unless he receives a court summons.
In a post accompanying the letter, Luke stated, “Additional individuals involved have been identified and handed over.” The Justice Department’s notification also indicated that a U.S. probation officer may prepare a report for the court and could contact Luke regarding the case’s impact on him.
Following the 2023 incident, Luke assured fans he was safe and clarified that rockstar Games, the developer of “Grand theft Auto,” was not to blame for the ordeal.
