Milo Ventimiglia Expecting Second Child with Wife Jarah Mariano
A heartwarming announcement unfolded on late-night television as actor Milo Ventimiglia revealed he and wife Jarah Mariano are expecting their second child. The news came during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where the This Is Us and Gilmore Girls star also shared insights into navigating early fatherhood.
Ventimiglia, 48, acknowledged the surprise surrounding the quick expansion of their family. Despite common assumptions about sleep deprivation with a young child, he shared positive news about their 1-year-old daughter, Ke’ala Coral. “She’s actually doing great,” he said, noting that Ke’ala Coral sleeps through the night and enjoys early morning self-conversation, waking up around 5:40 a.m. to “talk to herself.”
The couple celebrated both Ke’ala Coral’s first birthday and the pregnancy announcement earlier this month. Mariano, a 42-year-old Hawaiian-born model and entrepreneur, poignantly expressed her feelings about motherhood in an Instagram post: “Happy 1 year baby girl. When you came into my life I had 2 distinct thoughts, one immediately after the other—I would die for you in a heartbeat, but now I also have to live as long as I possibly can to be around to make sure you’re safe.”
Ventimiglia reflected on a year marked by both hardship and joy. Their first daughter arrived on January 23, 2025, just weeks after a devastating wildfire destroyed their Malibu home. The unexpected events profoundly reshaped his perspective on parenthood. “When you’re a first parent…you kind of think you’re going to be this, like, wonder parent,” he explained. “I was striving to like, ‘Cool, man, I’m going to be the healthiest.’ ‘We’re going to feed this baby organic.’ ‘We’re going to buy blenders; we’re going to do all this stuff.’ And then, after a while, you’re like, ‘Oh, man, we had quite a year.’”
Throughout their relationship, Ventimiglia and Mariano have prioritized privacy, exchanging vows in a discreet ceremony in September 2023 attended only by close family and friends. Mariano, previously a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and actress, initially announced her first pregnancy in September 2024 via Instagram, sharing a playful image of herself with a baby bump while surfing off the coast of Hawaii.
